Strifeshadow is a Real Time Strategy Game by Ethermoon Entertainment. Here are some of the key distinctions that sets Strifeshadow apart from other RTS games. Quoted directly from Ethermoon's president Martin Snyder.
  • Strategic depth and balance.

    This is accomplished through a couple of means. Each unit is designed with a specific and single purpose, and the races are designed so that they have multiple equally viable options in most situations. The game gives the players the tools to be successful using any strategy or set of strategies without favoring any single one. This variety is extended by the unique nature of most of the units. Quite simply, we try to let the players determine the victor before any other factor.

  • Focus on combat and tactical control.

    Most RTS games feature a relatively low percentage of combat time when compared to overall game time. Strifeshadow will shift towards more combat by lessening the amount of time players spend on the ancillary tasks (building, resource collection, etc...). We do this through a series of features that makes things faster without decreasing their importance. Two notable features in this are the resource system and the production building system. Production facilities can be upgraded or activated simultaneously to allow mass-production without mass clicking.

  • Multiplayer and community support.

    We've created a range of features for multiplayer gamers. This is a mixed bag as not all players will take advantage of all of these features. We feel that there's something in here for everyone though. The list includes things like the support for large numbers of observers, the ability to create and share mods quickly and easily using StrifeEdit, game recording and playback annotation, in-game tournament support and so on.
